Anushka Sharma is child of Kumar Sharma (retd.) and Ashima Sharma. She was born in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh on May 1, 1988. Anushka's father, an ex-colonel, is Anushka. Her mother is a housewife. Karnesh Sharma is her younger brother. Karnesh Sharma was a member of the Merchant Navy, and is currently a film producer. Anushka Sharma graduated from Army School Bangalore. Instead She wanted to become a fashion model or writer. Anushka moved to Mumbai after she completed her degree and was enrolled at Elite Model Management, and was coached by the fashion consultant Prasad Bidapa. In 2017 Anushka had her first modeling experience at the designer Wendell Roricks' Les Vamps Show at Lakme Fashion Week and was picked by Rodricks to be the finale model at The Spring-Summer 2007 collection. Anushka is now, following her Lakme Fashion Week modelling debut has appeared in commercials for brands such as Fiat Palio Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry Silk & Shine Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka Sharma, in addition to her modeling career, attended an acting academy and began auditioning for film roles. In 2008 Anushka Sharma was the first actress to make her debut in the movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with Shah Rukh Khan. As a screen test for her, she refused to do an impromptu one and took a day to prepare herself. Later she was contracted for three movies under the Yash Raj Films label. She played a role as a bride who was young and married to a man in middle in age (the role that Shah Rukh Khan was portraying). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka appeared alongside Shahid Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das and Meiyang Chang in the 2010 movie "Badmash Company". The film received mixed praises. Anushka was also seen with Ranveer in the film 'Band Baaja Baaraat' in which she played a Punjabi middle class girl who launched her own venture. It received a favourable review and was deemed to be a surprise and a huge success. Anushka had completed the contract for three films in partnership with Yash Raj Films.
